Chittagong, May 20 - Indian off-spinner Ramesh Powar turned 29 and celebrated his birthday with his teammates here Sunday, two days after making his Test match debut.

Had rains not washed out the third day's play of the first Test against Bangladesh, Powar might have taken his first Test wicket.

Powar cut a cake on the rooftop of the team hotel, Peninsula, surrounded by his teammates at a brief birthday celebration in the evening as dark clouds threatened to wipe out more play on the fourth and penultimate day Monday.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Anil Kumble had fever Sunday. But he was seen having dinner with his wife and son in the team hotel soon after Powar's birthday party.

The Indian players remained confined to their hotel throughout the day while the Bangladeshi team went to the Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium to have indoor net practice.

India had scored 384 for six wickets in their first innings on a rain-curtailed second day Saturday, when a soggy outfield allowed only 20 overs towards the end of the day after sunrays finally broke through dark clouds.

Before the premature end of play, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly duly completed their 36th and 13th centuries respectively.

A total of 173 overs have been lost over the first three days and the match is heading for a tame draw.
