Indians, say cheese to more business with Argentina

[RxPG] New Delhi, May 10 - If Argentine chocolates, cheese and peanuts have delighted your taste buds, get ready to do more business with the vibrant South American country.
That was the message from a high-profile business delegation that is currently visiting India. It represents diverse sectors from Argentina's Central Region, the economic heart of the country.
The delegation is headed by the governors of Cordoba, Entre Rios and Santa Fe, the three provinces that comprise this most productive region of Argentina.
The country may be located some 20,000 km from India, but it is determined to make up for this distance by seizing on new opportunities offered by the fast growing Indian economy.
'We have taken measures to strengthen the Argentine economy. This mission is here to establish permanent relations with India,' Jorge Pedro Busti, governor of Entre Rios, told business delegates while making a presentation at Hotel Taj Mahal here Thursday.
'We have high admiration for India. We have been captivated by your country. And we want to do more business with India,' he said at the India-Argentina Business meet.
The business meet, the first multi-sector business-to-business initiative between India and Argentina, was flagged off in Mumbai earlier this week.
Jose Manuel De La Sota, the governor of Cordoba, showcased his province as the 'land of opportunities' as he underlined the need for enhancing trade between the two sides.
Chocolates, cheese and peanuts of the 'highest quality' are some of the specialities of Argentina that Indians will appreciate, he said.
But this is just the appetizer. There is tremendous scope for trade and investment between the two sides in sectors like agricultural machinery, dairy products, food processing machinery, fruits, oils, metallurgy and pharmaceuticals, he said.
'If your product is good and your price is good, come to Argentina,' said Argentine Ambassador to India Ernesto Carlos Alvarez asking Indian businessmen to invest in Argentina.

Indian exports to Argentina were estimated to be about $249.6 million in 2005.
