[RxPG] Kolkata, May 15 - Raymond, one of India's leading textile and apparel companies, has geared up to double its garment retailing chain across the world in three years.
Focusing mainly on the Middle East, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, the company has decided to increase the total number of its retail outlets from 433 to 950 in three years.
'Right now there are 433 Raymond stores including 27 international outlets. We have a definite plan to significantly increase the retail chain across the world. By 2010, Raymond will have a network of over 950 stores with over two million square feet of retail space,' Raymond's retail president Aniruddha Deshmukh told a press conference here Tuesday.
Unveiling the firm's future investment plans, he said Raymond was now eying to expand business in India, the Middle East and South Asia.
'In next thee years, we are targeting to increase our total turnover from Rs.7 billion to about Rs.12 billion. The company would also augment some international outlets, taking their number from 27 to 45,' he said.
Appreciating the retailing boom in West Bengal, Deshmukh added that in next two years there would be 50 Raymond shops in the state targeting at the customers of tier III, IV and V cities.
