[RxPG] New Delhi, May 2 - An 11-member legal delegation from the US is all set to visit India to take part in a three-day conference to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce - said Wednesday.

The conference - Business in and between India and the US: Legal and Regulatory Framework - will be inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in the capital May 4, IACC said here.

Apart from addressing and identifying factors that can pave the way for greater bilateral trade between both the countries, other issues such as mergers and acquisitions, taxation regimes of both countries, redressal of legal disputes in business process outsourcing -, export, import and anti-money laundering steps will also be dealt with in the conference.

'Qualitative changes are taking place in Indo-US bilateral economic relations with greater focus laid on investment. India's investment in the US is on the upswing as much as the US investment in India,' said Lalit Bhasin, chairman, Legal Affairs Committee, IACC.

'To consolidate and build on this happy augury, there should be better awareness and understanding of the legal and regulatory framework of each other's country,' Bhasin, who is also the president of Society of Indian Legal Firms, added.
