Increase in psychotic symptoms predicts relapse to cannabis use
There may be a two-way relationship between cannabis use and psychosis, according to a new study from Australia. Published in the August issue of the British Journal of Psychiatry, the study found that more frequent cannabis use was associated with a higher risk of psychotic relapse, and more severe psychotic symptoms were associated with increased risk of cannabis relapse.

New PET Radiotracer to Visualize Cannabinoid Receptors Developed
A team of Johns Hopkins researchers developed a new radiotracera radioactive substance that can be traced in the bodyto visualize and quantify the brains cannabinoid receptors by positron emission tomography (PET), opening a door to the development of new medications to treat drug dependence, obesity, depression, schizophrenia, Parkinsons disease and Tourette syndrome.

Cannabis Based Medicine to be Supplied in Spain

Call for public health campaign on cannabis
The mental healthy charity Rethink on September 23 gave evidence to the Advisory Council on the Mis-use of Drugs, which is considering the classification of cannabis at the request of the Home Secretary and called for a long-term, properly funded public health campaign highlighting the mental health dangers of using cannabis.
