Air crash: Ministry in touch with Indian mission in Nairobi

According to the Indian High Commission, Kenyan Airways have announced that they would bear the cost of two return tickets per boarded passenger for the next of the kin who wished to travel to Douala.

[RxPG] New Delhi, May 9 - The Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs - is in touch with the Indian High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya, to ascertain the arrangements being made regarding travel and accommodation in Kenya and Cameroon of the relatives of those Indians killed in an air crash in southern Cameroon.
The ministry is also coordinating with the mission in identification and transportation of the bodies of the victims.
Two MOIA officials, Jagadananda Panda, Protector General of Emigrants - and R.C. Meena, Under Secretary Emigration 9868128883 - and 11-26874236 - may be contacted for assistance, a press released said.
Kenyan Airways Flight No. KQ 507 - bound for Kenyan capital Nairobi from Douala, Cameroon - crashed early Saturday in southern Cameroon with 114 people aboard, including 15 Indians.
The wreckage of the plane was found 36 hours after it vanished from radar screens.

Accommodation would also be provided for reasonable duration by the airways.
