IIMs to wait for government order on quotas

[RxPG] New Delhi, March 29 - Indian Institutes of Management - authorities in Indore and Ahmedabad have said they would wait for the government order before taking any action on the Supreme Court ruling staying quotas for backward class students.
The Supreme Court Thursday stayed till August the 27 percent reservation for other backward classes - students in higher educational institutes like the IIMs and Indian Institutes of Technology -.
'We have not gone through the court order yet. We are waiting for the central government's order over it and act accordingly,' said Subrata Kumar Mishra, chief administrative officer of IIM-Indore.
'As per the government directive, we were planning for a three phased implementation of the quota policy. If the government tells us to wait this year, we will obey it,' said Ashok K. Shah, chief communication officer of IIM-Ahemdabad.
There are six IIMs in the country - Indore, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bangalore and Kozhikode.
