European film festival coming to India

[RxPG] New Delhi, April 19 - Movie buffs can look forward to an interesting ensemble of modern European cinema to be showcased during the 12th European Union Film Festival in India starting April 27 in the capital.
The nearly month long festival will be kick-started by the German film 'The Lives of Others' - in Delhi April 27 and will go on till May 4. A package of 26 films from 23 European Union member states will be screened.
The aim of the festival is to project the excellence of European film art, contribute to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures and to promote mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation among Indian and European citizens.
And the bouquet of films is expected to give vivid reflections of the cultural streams of Europe and stories that describe European life in a certain socio-economic and cultural environment.
Some of the films that will be screened are: 'Step by Step' -, 'Crazy Day' -, 'Journey to Jerusalem' -, 'Hanele' -, 'Wallah Be' -, 'Four Minutes' -, 'Shop of Dreams' -, 'Dancing at Lughnasa' -, 'Iberia' -, 'By the Pricking of My Thumbs' -, 'Three Days of Anarchy' -, 'Honey and Wine' -, and 'Warrior' -
The event is a part of the EU-India strategic partnership established at the 6th EU-India Summit in September 2005.
The festival will travel to other parts of the country, including Pune -, Calicut and Kozhikode - and end in Kolkata -.
