[RxPG] New Delhi, April 27 - Director Ashutosh Gowarikar's historical love saga 'Jodha Akbar' is likely to have its first screening at the 60th Cannes Film Festival in May.
The Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan starrer will reportedly represent India in a special section dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Indian independence, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the festival. Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi is expected to attend this special event.
Earlier, the festival organisers wanted to premiere director Rajat Kapoor's 'Mithya' but with the film being in the last stages of production, the producers, Planman Motion Pictures, did not want to compromise on the quality by rushing through the process. They then decided against sending an unfinished 'Mithya' to the festival.
The organisers later approached Gowarikar to premiere his film.

This will be Ash's first release after her wedding with Abhishek Bachchan.
