[RxPG] Bangalore, April 22 - 'Mungaru Male' is set to become one of the biggest hits in the history of Kannada cinema. It tops the fortnight's list of Karnataka's films.
The top five Kannada films are:
1. 'Mungaru Male' - While many of the earlier blockbusters were big hits in some areas and not so good in other distribution areas, 'Mungaru Male' leads in all areas. Director Yogaraj Bhat's film has grossed more than Rs.150 million at the box office in the first 100 days of its run.
2. 'Duniya' - The film has just completed 50 days and its lead actor Vijay and debutant director Soori both have become superstars. Trade pundits expect the film to do business of over Rs.80 million.
3. 'Arasu' - The Puneet Raj Kumar starrer may complete 100 days in the main centres and may just be able to cover its investment for producers. Despite the competition from 'Mungaru Male', it has survived.
4. 'Ekadhantha' - It is a profitable product for the producers, but the distributors, who paid huge sums of money, are sure to suffer losses because Vishnuvardhan starrer has flattered to deceive.
5. 'Thimma' - Directed by Sai Sagar, the film opened well, but it had a great fall thereafter. It stays on the list only because other films have not done well.
