[RxPG] Mumbai, April 23 - It seems TV star Rohit Roy is determined to prove himself as an on-camera multi-tasker - he is running from one set to another for his films and serials and even ended up shooting 36 hours non-stop for the soap 'Viraasat'.
'Ever since 'Viraasat' went on STAR One from STAR Plus, it has caught on in a big way. And since we were doing a dance sequence, I was also screaming at the top of my lungs, so my voice is almost gone,' Rohit told IANS.
However, there was no respite for Rohit who rushed from 'Viraasat' to another song and dance sequence for Apoorva Lakhia's film 'Shoot-out At Lokhandwala'.
'We had to shoot the climax song and there was no way I could delay. I wish I could learn from my brother - about how to nap between shots. I can't rest while working. So basically I didn't sleep for almost two days at a stretch. It felt like hell. But at the end of the day it was worth it.'
Rohit's 'Viraasat' is expected to be on until June this year. After that he will take a sabbatical to get into the movies.
'My first feature film out would be 'Shoot-Out At Lokhandwala', after that I'm in a short feature film by Sanjay Gupta called 'Gubbare', in which I got to share screen space with Nana Patekar for the first time. He was such a learning experience.'
Rohit also has a prominent part in Gupta's autobiographical 'Gubbare' where he gets to co-star with his talented wife Mansi, who has launched their production house, not to mention a website devoted to her husband.
And Mahesh Bhatt, who directed Rohit's debut serial 'Swabhimaan' on Doordarshan more than a decade ago, will finally cast the actor in a feature film.
'I've been hounding Bhatt saab for four years. We met again last week. And he finally said, 'Bachche, you're on.' Working with him again will be like coming home, albeit on a much larger screen.'
Bhatt's wife Soni Razdan is expected to direct the film.
