Indian girls advance to World Junior Tennis finals

Rishika Sunkara beat Alisa Ogorodova 6-2, 7-5 in the opening singles match and Aishwarya Agrawal beat Karolina Chernaya 6-3, 6-1 to give the hosts the winning 2-0 lead.

[RxPG] New Delhi, April 27 - Indian girls' team Friday qualified for the World Junior Tennis Competition finals, to be held in the Czech Republic in August.
India along with three other countries - Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, which all made it to the semi-finals Friday - advanced from the ongoing World Junior Competition Asia-Oceania Qualifying Zone here.
On Friday, second seeded Indian girls defeated seventh seeded Uzbek rivals 3-0 in a quarter-final tie to advance to the semi-finals of the Asia-Oceania Qualifying Zone.
India will play third seeded Thailand while top seeded Indonesia will clash with fifth seeded Japan in the semi-finals Saturday.
In the other quarter-final matches, Indonesia beat unseeded New Zealand 3-0, Japan defeated fourth seeded Australia 3-0, and Thailand overcame sixth seeded China 2-1.
India had it easy against Uzbekistan.
