[RxPG] Kolkata, April 30 - For cricket icon Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly being 'rested' for the one-day series in Bangladesh next month is simply a euphemism to hide the fact that they were 'dropped' from the side.
Addressing reporters here Monday, the World Cup winning former Indian captain said: 'There are no half measures for me. Either you take them or you drop them. For me they were dropped.'
Kapil, who is here for the Zonal Cricket Academy camp, added: 'For me, rules can't be different for different cricketers. All of them are same. How can some be treated differently?
'They have not played so much cricket in the last six months that they needed to be rested. They were simply dropped.'
About the Indian team's Bangladesh tour, Kapil said, 'The side is low on confidence after the World Cup. They need a good series to be shining again.
'At the same time they must vow not to repeat the disaster.'
