[RxPG] Rajkot -, March 27 - The Indian cricketers, facing anger of millions of fans in the country after their debacle in the World Cup, will be provided security, an Indian cricket board official said here Tuesday.
'Keeping in mind the fact that public sentiments are very strong, it has been decided to beef up security for the players,' Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India -, told reporters here.
Security arrangements were made around the homes of several players, he said.
'India coach Greg Chappell too will be given an appropriate security cover,' Shah added.
India, winners of the World Cup in 1983 and finalists in 2003, failed in the opening round of the tournament, as they were defeated by Sri Lanka and minnows Bangladesh.
