[RxPG] Kolkata, April 30 - Led by manager Ravi Shastri and captain Rahul Dravid, the Indian cricket think tank arrived here 48 hours before the conditioning camp for the Bangladesh tour to plan a strategy that would help in preventing a recurrence of the Caribbean disaster.
After India's World Cup debacle against Bangladesh, the series is seen as a crucial tour to redeem some of the lost pride by the Indian team.
That a new think tank, in the post-Greg Chappell era, has come into being, gives a new dimension to this early arrival.
Newly appointed cricket manager Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad and fielding coach Robin Singh would want to sit with skipper Rahul Dravid and chalk out a clear strategy for each player as well as for the entire team.
The think tank is expected to begin discussions at around 7 p.m. Monday in a meeting that will be attended by physio John Gloster and physical trainer Gregory Allan King. Logistics manager Russel Radhakrishnan is also making a recce of Eden Gardens to ensure that all facilities are in place.
Shastri said the four-day camp, commencing May 2, would not be open for the general public. The Indian team will arrive in batches Tuesday and fly for Dhaka on May 7.
