Kolkata, May 7 - After an eventful five-day conditioning camp here, the Indian cricket team left for Bangladesh Monday to play one-dayers and a Test series beginning Thursday.

The squad that left with captain Rahul Dravid was the team for the ODI - series. Players Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly left for their homes - Mumbai and Kolkata, respectively - to join the tour later for the Test matches.

The one-dayers will be played May 10, 12 and 15 while the two Test matches will be held May 18 and 25.

India last toured Bangladesh in December 2004 when the hosts registered their first ever limited-overs international win on home ground over India.

India, whose shocking exit from the World Cup's first round was precipitated by minnows Bangladesh in the Caribbeans, would play to avenge their defeat.

With senior members like Tendulkar and Ganguly rested from the ODI side Dravid injured in the nose, the tour has become even more challenging.

On injured Dravid, cricket manager Ravi Shastri said Sunday: 'There is no question of Rahul missing the tour. He is fine, he is a tough cookie. His improvement is being monitored.'

On the absence of a vice-captain for the tour, Shastri said: 'We are ready. We know who will do what job in case of any eventuality.'

Virender Sehwag might be the vice-captain of the ODI series, cricket watchers speculate.

The camp ended on a spicy note Sunday, with flamboyant wicket keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni reportedly kissed by a female fan at the Eden Gardens here.
