[RxPG] Sydney, April 28 - India's Vivek Singh finished ninth in the men's 10 metre air pistol at the shooting World Cup here Saturday.
Singh shot s series of 98, 93, 99, 97, 96, 98 for a total of 581 to miss the finals, comprising top eight shooters, just by a point.
Singh's compatriot Samaresh Jung finished 15th with a score of 578 - while Amanpreet Singh Jhaam finished 22nd with a score of 577 - in a field of 52 contestants.
In the minimum qualification score - section, India's Deepak Sharma shot a score of 571 - while Ronak Pandit shot a score of 560 -.
Vladimir Gontcharov of Russia won the gold medal in this event with 686.4 -, Ekimov Leonid of Russia the silver with 686.1 - and Lapeyre Walter of France the bronze with 685.3 -.
In the women's 10m air rifle event, India's Tejaswini Sawant finished 14th with 395 -, Suma Shirur 20th with 394 - and Avneet Kaur Sidhu 50th with 390 - in a field of 74 shooters.
In the MQS section, Anjali Bhagwat shot 395 - while Meena Kumari managed 389 -.
Du Li of China won the gold with 502.3 -, Zhao Yinghui of China the silver - and Dovgun Olga of Kazakhstan the bronze -.
